
The heavy dependance on oil exports, coupled with pervasive corruption, political unrest and instability, economic mismanagement, and irresponsible policies put forth by the government have badly damaged the economy. The country has the world's largest oil reserves, although this hasn't exactly translated into prosperity and wealth for the vast majority of the population. The country is known for being the home of the Angel Falls (Kerepakupai Vená), the world's highest waterfall and one of Venezuela's major tourist attractions. Venezuela is a country in South America on the Caribbean Sea.

Many international flight routes have been suspended, and commercial flights to and from Venezuela remain very limited. Road travel between Venezuelan states is banned, with roadblocks in place and limited internal flights. Measures are in place to limit the spread of the virus, including community-wide quarantines.
